Landmark Hospital of Cape Girardeau Missouri has an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner to join our dedicated and professional team. Landmark Hospitals are committed to providing the highest level of customer service and quality of care to those we serve.

Shift: Monday Friday day shift with possible rotating call at night, depending on physician coverage

Summary: Provide healthcare services to acutely ill patients, under the supervision of a physician. Conduct complete physicals, provide treatment, and counsel patients. Works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide high level pulmonary and critical care for the patient.

Responsibilities:

  • Determines the course of care and treatment in collaboration with the physician
  • Ensures that specific patient outcomes are achieved and that variances are evaluated and addressed in collaboration with members of the healthcare team
  • Demonstrates an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge, clinical/technical competence, and sound clinical judgment.
  • Professional communication skills, and timely and thorough documentation meeting all regulatory requirements
  • Responsible for professional development and competency validation.
  • Strictly follows isolation and infection control procedures

Requirements:

  • Missouri License - APRN
  • ACLS/BLS certification
  • Minimum 1-3 years of critical care experience
  • Knowledge of mechanical ventilation/respiratory physiology.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients/families, as well as staff and physicians.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • LTAC/Acute Care Hospital experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards
