Landmark Hospital of alt Lake City, UT has an exciting opportunity for a Facilities/Plant Operations Assistant  to join our dedicated and professional team. Landmark Hospitals are committed to providing the highest level of customer service and quality of care to those we serve.

Summary: Responsible for ordering, receiving, distributing, managing inventory of supplies and equipment for the hospital. Is responsible for maintaining the building and equipment and performing light maintenance.  The Facilities/Plant Operations Assistant logs, reports and files as required. This position assists the Director of Facilities/plant operations with, housekeeping Department, Security and functions as the Safety Officer. It is necessary to understand infection control practices and the necessary procedures for cleaning the facility. The security employees are responsible for maintaining the security of the building and occupants in addition to assisting with stocking supplies, performing maintenance as needed and appropriate, and delivering lab specimens.    

Responsibilities: 

  • Maintains all facilities, regulation management and supply operations for Hospital.
  • Monitors utility equipment and alarm systems for proper functioning
  • Tests utility systems per requirements of safety program and submits reports to Safety Committee
  • Maintains required documentation and reports related to utility equipment testing and maintenance
  • Maintains documentation for all clinical and mechanical equipment and reports
  • Maintains documentation of all logs and certificates, including med gas, air, oxygen, fire alarm system testing, recalls and power outages, fuel monitor reports, emergency call binder and weekly maintenance checks
  • Establish and maintain par levels and reorder points for all specialty supplies pertaining to all departments including the procurement of supplies and equipment for specified department procedures
  • Provide overall leadership and direction for processing customer requisitions, vendor solicitation, evaluation and selection, issuance of purchase orders and document retention and customer and vendor relationship management
  • Collaborate with other supply chain operational areas to design and implement solutions to supply chain issues and systems
  • Manage and execute new Supply Chain initiatives as assigned
  • Strengthen culture, engage clinical teams, drive clinical integration, advance quality and patient safety and improve operation performance
  • Provide guidance and leadership regarding product standards, contracted vendors, changes in processes and all applicable fiscal policies that govern supply chain activities
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Monitors program compliance through reports and ongoing analysis of trends
  • Knowledgeable regarding the supplies and processes required for appropriate housekeeping needs

Requirements:

  • Associates degree in related field is preferred
  • Hospital experience is highly preferred.
  • High level knowledge of hospital requirements, regulations and compliance on a local, state and federal level.
  • Five years of progressive experience leading facilities management, operations, housekeeping, purchasing, strategic sourcing and vendor performance functions
    • At least two years in supervisory capacity within healthcare plant operations
  • Advanced aptitude of MMIS platforms and Supply Chain Management tools
  • Must have the ability to analyze financial and technical data and possess an in depth understanding of facilities and supply chain management
  • Effective interpersonal skills and exceptional service skills
  • Sound decision-making and the ability to present processes and policies in a simple and thorough fashion to all levels of the organization is an absolute necessity
