Our LTAC hospital system has an exciting opportunity for an Inpatient Billing and Collections Representative to join our dedicated and professional team, where we are committed to providing the highest level of customer service and quality of care to our patients.

Our healthcare company is leading healthcare in a new direction. Through our growing system of critical care hospitals, we provide solutions for patients who face a hospital discharge, yet still require acute medical care. Our patients may simply need additional time to recover from an illness or injury, or they may present medically complex cases that require a multi-disciplinary approach to extended acute healthcare. Our patients require a higher level of care for a longer period than the average hospital offers; but they are not yet ready to transfer to a sub-acute care facility, such as a skilled nursing facility, or to be discharged.

We are currently searching for an Inpatient Hospital Billing and Collections Representative to work in our Central Business Office, primarily responsible for resolving unpaid medical claims.  

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
2+ years' experience working unpaid medical claims
Long Term Care, Inpatient and Outpatient Hospital or ASC specialty experience
Knowledge of billing requirements for inpatient hospital services
Filing appeals to insurance payers
Knowledge of DRG codes

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
Review and investigate unpaid insurance medical claims
Follow up of denied insurance claims, file appeals with appropriate documentation
Identifies and resolves problems, including but not limited to duplicate or incorrect charges, incorrect coding, erroneous registration, incorrect payer processing and imitates corrections accordingly
Documents all actions and outcomes within billing system
Completes work accurately, in a timely manner and with great attention to detail
Develops relationships with payer representatives
Completes special projects assigned by Management
Must be dependable and organized
Promotes cooperation within the department and leads by example, works as team player to improve office function
