We are a private, small LTAC hospital with 42 beds where we are truly one team working together in a positive environment. There is not an Emergency Room here, so our days are more predictable and planned, meaning better work/life balance. With the average length of stay around 25-30- days, we get the privilege of having a more meaningful connection with our patients and actually being able to see them recover.
Summary: Operates within Landmark Hospital's Core Values to provide in-depth clinical expertise. Must possess the knowledge and skill to administer all forms of respiratory assistance and treatment responsibilities assigned to the Department of Respiratory Therapy Services.
Will function as a resource in all patient care areas and have frequent contact with patients, often critical in nature. RTs participate on the Code Blue team, all rapid response teams, and formulate patient care plans, and perform various invasive procedures. RTs are required to exercise independent judgment in many tasks. This position is responsible for the management and administration of respiratory medications and therapeutic medical gases.
Respiratory Therapists will closely recognize the interrelationships between vital signs, physiological activity, and pathophysiological changes and will utilize a problem-solving approach to analyze the findings and take appropriate action. This includes observation of patient monitoring equipment as it relates to all aspects of patient pathophysiological activity and responding appropriately. In addition, the therapist is expected to participate in patient care activities as directed by the charge nurse.
- Valid RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) License
- Minimum 1 year hospital experience, critical care preferred
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
