Director of Nursing / Transitional Recovery Unit

Overview:

Landmark Hospital of Savannah is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to lead the operational and regulatory implementation process in our transitional recovery unit.  The Director of Nursing will provide leadership, coaching and development of patient care staff.  This position will report to the hospital Chief Executive Officer.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess valid unencumbered RN license to practice in Georgia.
  • BSN / ACLS
  • Five (5) years or more of experience as a manager in a skilled nursing facility or subacute unit.
  • Must have knowledge and experience regarding subacute care, rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the nursing service department, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern nursing care facilities.
  • Develop, maintain, and periodically update written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department.
  • Develop methods for coordination of nursing services with other patient services to ensure the continuity of the patients' total regimen of care.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain an ongoing quality assurance program for the nursing service department.
  • Participate in the interviewing and selection of patients for admission to the Landmark Transitional Recovery Unit, including PASARR screenings.
  • Provide the Chief Nursing Officer with information relative to the nursing needs of the patients and the nursing service department's ability to meet those needs.
  • Participate in state/federal surveys of the Landmark Transitional Recovery Unit.
